GAME Plan...part 3
The goals I set for implementing my game plan were to create a slide show presentation to show proper behavior in a restaurant and communicate with parents using my teacher website. I haven't truly started to implement my plan. The intention is there, but it just hasn't happened given the fact that school ends next week and I can't even imagine everything that needs to be done. I have all of the resources and know-how to accomplish these things...I am just lacking in time. I think that in order to accomplish the goal of updating my website, I need to assign myself a time (plan period on Thursday, for example) to sit down and work on my website. Just like I make sure I complete my assignments for class, I need to make sure I complete my assignments for my website. Anyone else having similar issues?

ReplyDeleteI think we are all with you in the fact of school ending very soon and all the stuff that goes with the end of the year. My impementation of my goals are the results of stuff I have been doing over the past month or so. playing phone/email tag with my supervisor and just taking time to organize materials that I have had for the past several years. Hang in there, one day at a time. Don't stess out about it, it will get done. Take care.
I know exactly how you feel about time. I think your plan is excellent though and I am sure you will develop it throughout the summer and be ready to implement it next fall. It seems like no matter how well you plan for the end of the year it is still stressful with everything parents and adminstrators want from you. When do you officially get done with school in your district? Our last day is next Friday, June 4th. I can't wait:)

Hi Katie,
ReplyDeleteYes, my fourth grade team meetings keep getting cancelled. That is only one of my issues. If you cannot fit it in before the end of this year maybe you could host a summer teacher party and videotape during some of it? It is more informal but may serve the same purpose. Plus it is a great reason to get everyone together. Then you will be ready to use the lesson at the start of the next school year.
Katie,
ReplyDeleteI think everyone is at the same point with the school year coming to an end. There are so many things to complete before the kids go home and it is difficult to get everything done. It is great that you have your goals set and already know what you need to do to start implementing your plan. You can start working on your website during the summer and then you can add your final touches to it at the start of the next school year.
Katie and all,
ReplyDeleteI agree the time of year is making it difficult to put things in place this year. The good thing is that now we have the time over the summer to plan for how to incorporate the strategies/technologies for the next school year. I always find it easier to incorporate new things into my class that I learn about over the summer than items I learn about during the year when I already have a plan in place. Good luck with your last few days of school.
Hey everyone! Thanks for your ideas and encouragement. It is great to know that I am not alone. I plan on working on it this summer as most of you suggested.
ReplyDeleteTravis-
To answer your question, my last day with kids is Friday, June 4th as well but I have to go the following Monday for an inservice day. Most of the other schools around here (Southwestern Ohio) are out at this point but we have another week. I'm just a little bitter about it!
It is so frustrating to not have the time to do the neat things that we would like to do. I have a book that I write my ideas down in hooping that I can get to them some day. A website is one of those things, I have a teacher website but I never stay up on it.
